SMART DevNet recently sponsored the Manila Game Jam at Benilde. This week we’re also sponsoring a Play Party to celebrate the winners of this cool event! Here’s more on the event this Wednesday from IGDA Manila:
Game Developers from all Global Game Jam locations in the Philippines will be gathering at Colab XChange to play the best games of the 2013 Manila Game Jam!
Last January 25 to 27, 2013, the International Game Developers Association – Manila Chapter (IGDA Manila) hosted Manila Game Jam 2013 (MGJ2013), the biggest annual game-making event in the country. As part of the worldwide Global Game Jam, students, professional and hobbyist game developers created games in just 48 hours, with the top games being awarded honors and special prizes.
MGJ2013 was the 4th game jam organized by IGDA Manila. This year’s game jam was held in 3 locations all over the Philippines and had more than 300 participants producing more than 40 games.
This year, IGDA Manila partners with SMART DevNet and co.lab to celebrate this year’s game jam winners via the IGDA Manila Play Party. To be held this February 20, 7 PM, the Play Party gathers the winning teams from this year’s Game Jam at Colab XChange. Each team will be given a chance to network with their peers and share their games with the other winning teams from across all game jam locations in the Philippines. Games made in the Game Jam from all over the world will also be playable during the event.
co.lab xchange, managed by co.lab, is located at 3/F Unit 301, #3 Brixton Street, Kapitolyo Pasig City. A coworking and collaboration space for creatives, freelancers, startups and entrepreneurs, co.lab xchange is the perfect location for communities to gather and network. More information on co.lab can be found at http://colab.ph.
The Play Party is sponsored by SMART DevNet, the developer community of SMART Communications. SMART has been a staunch supporter of the local game development industry, and the Play Party is just one of the events that game developers and students can look forward to this year.
