SMARTDevNet at PHRug and DevCon organized Rails Girls Manila 2012

And just as 2012 is about to close – things couldn’t just get better for developers and even would-be developers as even international developer movements like Rails Girls are landing on Philippine shores. As described on the

Rails Girls site:

“Our aim is to give tools and a community for women to understand technology and to build their ideas. We do this by providing a great experience on building things and by making technology more approachable.

Learn sketching, prototyping, basic programming and get introduced to the world of technology. Rails Girls was born in Finland, but is nowadays a global, non-profit volunteer community. Welcome to join!”

The format is outlined in their online guide and with the help of DevCon and PhRUG (Philippine Ruby Users Group), Rails Girls Manila 2012 was on its way! Here’s some pictures from Rails Girls itself happening at Exist Tech Bar at Orient Square, Ortigas CBD. The post-Rails Girls meet-up was at nearby Congo Grill. Follow them on twitter via @RailsGirlsMLA or join their Facebook Group. SMARTDevNet btw is a very proud Gold Sponsor of the first ever Rails Girls Manila!
